My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Departamentos Bariloche this last Mother's Day weekend. (Which was nice, since it falls on a different day in Argentina, and in the off season, so we pretty much had our choice of discounted apartments, restaurants, and services). When we arrived at the building, there was a note from Hernan to ring his office, which we did and he buzzed us in and came out to greet us and show us the apartment. Though we are Spanish speaking ex-pats, it was nice to know Hernan spoke English perfectly. We spend a lot of time in Argentina, and our experience at Departamentos Bariloche was amongst the best. For the uninitiated, Argentina is a “buyer beware” country and good customer service and comforts we take for granted in the US are far from the norm, thought that is less true in Bariloche. Hernan rose to the challenge, and clarified his policies regarding billing via email (i.e. in writing). The first thing I noticed about the apartment was how warm it was. They had turned up the heat so the apartment would be warm for our arrival, as it was very cold outside. That was a very nice touch. The apartment was as represented in the pictures, clean, and had good working appliances, most of which were new. There was also a big LCD television with cable, and wireless internet. Hernan brought us some clean hotel grade towels, and left us his mobil number in case we needed anything. (Normally, we buy a cheap SIM card for our unlocked Blackberrys on arrival, which we didn't do this time and ended up being a mistake.) The water heater was a small tank heater that had enough capacity for us to each take a hot shower and our 3 year old to have a small bath. I'm not sure about Bariloche, but in most of Argentina tank-less water heaters are the norm, which suck for taking showers.
My only complaint would be regarding the wireless signal, which was weak and went out during our stay. After our relaxing chocolate-filled weekend, we waited for Hernan at the apartment at checkout time. Unbeknownst to us (because the internet went out), he had emailed us saying we could checkout later in the day if we wished, as there was no other party arriving. After waiting for almost an hour, we had to head out so we could buy our tickets and get coffee and lunch. Hernan even went so far as to give us a very generous discount to compensate us for the internet and losing part of our day. While this level of customer service is more common in the US, it is practically unknown in Argentina, where years of crises have taught people to value more what's in their hand now, and to discount the long term. I would definitely stay at Departamentos Bariloche again, and happily recommend them to anyone.

The apartments are in a great location overlooking the lake, far enough from town to be quiet but only a few blocks walk to the shops and restaurants. They are very modern and well equipped. The owner is really helpful and will do anything he can to make your stay enjoyable. Couldn't fault this place.

This is a fantastic boutique hotel. We had a lake view room which was lovely - balcony, hot tub, nice furniture. Definitely one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in, if not the best. The bed is two singles pushed together, but you don't really notice it. There is a nice small swimming pool with an inside and outside bit. There is also a gym.

This apartment (it's not a hotel but a privately owned apartment in a large building) is a good size for a family of 4. It's not in the centre of town, but within a 10 minute walk, so pretty convenient. The apartment has basic cooking facilities and was functional for a week's stay. There's a grocery store right around the corner. The owners/managers are easily reached on email and quite quick to respond. The price was relatively good for the location.
Overall the apartment was a little bit dirty and tired feeling. The beds were very saggy. The kitchen supplies were basic but generally functional, though most things needed a good wash before they would be used. There was no electric kettle or coffee making equipment.
